Cavity Treatment with Dental Laser and Air Abrasion

In certain cases, Dr. Rosen and Dr. Dworkin now use an FDA-approved, safe, quiet, and convenient laser instead of a dental drill to removed damaged tooth material in preparation for a filling. This method greatly reduces or even eliminates the need for anesthesia. Since the laser also reduces bacteria in the treated area, healing is enhanced.

Air abrasion is another advanced treatment method. An instrument that emits a thin, powerful stream of air containing safe, microscopic particles is used to precisely and quickly remove just the decayed tissue.
